Acceptable Use Policy

This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") governs your use of the Lifestream Vault service ("the Service"). By using the Service, you agree to comply with this policy.
1. Prohibited Content
You may not use the Service to store, share, or publish:
- Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
- Content that infringes on intellectual property rights of others
- Malware, viruses, or other malicious code
- Phishing content or fraudulent schemes
- Content that promotes violence, harassment, or discrimination
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) or exploitation content
- Content used for illegal surveillance or stalking
- Spam or unsolicited bulk communications
2. Prohibited Activities
You may not:
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service, other accounts, or related systems
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the Service software
- Use the Service to conduct or facilitate denial-of-service attacks
- Use the Service for cryptocurrency mining or similar resource-intensive operations
- Create multiple free accounts to circumvent usage limits
- Share, sell, or transfer your account credentials
- Use automated tools to scrape or extract data from other users' published content
- Impersonate other users, companies, or entities
3. Resource Usage Limits
3.1 Storage
- Adhere to the storage limits of your subscription tier
- Do not use the Service as a general-purpose file hosting service
- Documents should primarily be Markdown text content
3.2 API Usage
- Respect API rate limits (as defined per your subscription tier)
- Implement exponential backoff for retried requests
- Cache responses where appropriate to minimize unnecessary API calls
- Do not use the API to build a competing service
3.3 AI Features
- Do not use AI features to generate prohibited content
- Do not attempt to extract or reverse-engineer AI model weights or training data
- Respect AI token usage limits per your subscription tier
4. Security Requirements
4.1 Account Security
- Use a strong, unique password for your account
- Do not share your password or API keys with unauthorized parties
- Revoke compromised API keys immediately
- Enable available security features
4.2 Responsible Disclosure
If you discover a security vulnerability in the Service, please report it responsibly to security@lifestreamdynamics.com. Do not exploit vulnerabilities or disclose them publicly before we have had a reasonable opportunity to address them.
5. WebDAV and Sync
- Use WebDAV sync only with supported clients (Obsidian, standard WebDAV clients)
- Do not use WebDAV for bulk automated operations that could degrade service
- Respect sync rate limits and conflict resolution mechanisms
6. Sharing and Publishing
- Do not share documents containing others' personal data without their consent
- Published documents must comply with all content restrictions in this policy
- Do not use sharing features to distribute spam or unwanted content
- Respect access controls and do not share private access tokens
7. Team and Collaboration
- Team owners are responsible for their team members' compliance with this policy
- Do not invite users to teams for the purpose of harassment or abuse
- Respect team role permissions and do not attempt to escalate privileges
8. Enforcement
8.1 Violations
Violations of this AUP may result in:
- Warning notification
- Temporary suspension of the offending feature or account
- Permanent termination of your account
- Reporting to law enforcement where required
8.2 Reporting
To report a violation of this AUP, contact us at abuse@lifestreamdynamics.com.
8.3 Appeals
If you believe your account was suspended or terminated in error, you may appeal by contacting support@lifestreamdynamics.com within 14 days.
9. Changes
We may update this AUP from time to time. Material changes will be communicated with 30 days' notice.
